Networking help

I really don't understand what network is all about even though there are tutorials on it. I clicked on network today and found that I have music, pictures etc. in it. Can I use these items for projects I am working on?

Help is appreciated.

Thanks as usual.

P.S. I am still trying to find out what I can do with my window 7 computer. I am finally learning some of them...

Network is what you share with others and what other have shared with you (or rather anyone who has the credentials --username and password-- for it). Those folders you see are in your own user profile. (Very simple description though it is an infrastructure to distribute and share resources)

What is Network? A Webopedia Definition

Regarding user folders:
Open Windows Explorer and under Library you will see those folders (Music, Video, Pictures, etc.)
Also under - C:\Users\<your_username>
Or from Start Menu
Or with the Desktop Shortcut.

You can use them as you see fit.

Search the forums for anything you may need help with and don't hesitate to ask.
