    Internet keeps cutting off

So i recently got the Verizon Quantum Gateway router. I have this linked to my other router that has a coax cable via ethernet cable. My computer is connected wired to this new router. It works fine with the same speeds but the connection keeps cutting off. The lights in the front and the back are still on and nothing is blinking. Both wireless and wired connection get cut which is odd due to the lights still on. My iPhone still remains connected to this router as this happens. My computer still says ethernet is connected yet i cant access the web or anything else. I've already updated the wired and wireless drivers. The only way to recover is to unplug and replug this router and the connection would come back up for about 30min-1hr and cut off again.

Any reason you are not using the new router alone?

I mean shutdown and remove the old router, use the new one to connect to ISP cable. Does this make sense?

Right but i want to use the other one on the other side of the house as the source since its connected via coax, and run an ethernet from there is where im at now from this router. i'm not experienced with networking fyi so i might not understand some things.

Before doing the following, see if you have connected the ethernet to correct ports. Ethernet from old router to WAN port of new one.

According to that page I linked (it is what you have, right), new router can use coax as well. Consider this a test, remove the other modem, on the new router: plug coax in, plug ethernet cable to one of yellow ports, plug the other end to your PC. If it restart again you can switch back to old modem.
