Why does my laptop keep connecting to different wifi connections when

I currently am in an apartment where there are 2 wifi networks that people here use throughout the building. However, I went and got my own internet because i didn't want to rely on the wifi and also because the wifi speed is very slow.

I have a sager np2740 laptop and connect an ethernet cable to the modem/router. The modem acts as a router as well. So i have a wired connection. Many times when i start up my computer... it would be connected to one of those other 2 wifi networks. So each time i have to click on the wifi icon on the bottom right and disconnect it. So when i do, then it would show the computer icon which shows i'm connected to my own internet wired connection. Many times however it would just disconnect and it would either connect to one of those 2 wifi connections or it would just show no connection. However in the 1st case, i would then of course click disconnect then it would connect to my wired connection. In the 2nd case, this would happen for only 1 or 2 seconds before it connects back to my own wired connection.

Does anyone know why this happens? I also like to mention that my ethernet port doesn't work no more on my sager laptop so i bought an ethernet adapter that i connect to the usb port. Its actually one of those usb ports where i connect it the laptops usb port so i would be able to connect more things to it.

Is there a way to not have my laptop start up each time and connect to the other 2 wifi connections in my building? I have no idea why this happens everytime so i have to click disconnect each time. And many times during my computer use, it would just connect to it which is very annoying. And of course no idea why my wired connection would have these 1-2 seconds of the computer icon on the bottom right disappearing then i would have no connection for 1 or 2 seconds before it connects right back to wired.

Probably wireless starts before USB Ethernet does and doesn't switch to wired later. (Just a guess of course)
Can you perhaps disable wireless card with the appropriate Fn key combo?
