    Switching between Two PC's ?

    Hello,

Presently have my desktop pc connected via an ethernet cable to my house Router.
The Router talks to my Comcast box.

If I get an additional PC for my kid, due to space limitations, they would both be located pretty close
    to each other.
We can share a single Monitor between us by just using one of those HDMI switches, but would rather
not switch physically the Ethernet cable.

Could a new PC connect to the Internet wirelessly via the Router, while leaving the original
PC connected via the Ethernet cable ?

Good way or doing it, poor approach ? Caveats, etc. ?
    Better approach ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

1 pc wired and 1 pc wifi is fine, ditto 2 wired. Usually wired is faster than wifi. As for monitor sharing, depending on your pc outputs and monitor inputs, it might be possible to have the 2 pc's connected, and switch using a button on the monitor ie select input.

I'd go with a 2nd monitor if possible unless you are sure there will not be times when both PCs need to be used at the same time.

I have two PCs connected through a KVMS (DVI) switch and it works great. One is a web server and the other is my daily use desktop. I occasionally look at the web server but that use never interferes with my desktop use so the switch is optimal for me.
