    Internet Disconnects Few Seconds Everyday

Laptop is sager np2740. Currently in Mexico. I have my own internet modem/router. I connect an ethernet cable from my laptop to the modem. My ethernet port broke on my laptop a while back so i bought an ethernet adapter.

Amazon.com: Cable MattersĀ® USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet Network Adapter in Black: Electronics

Everyday throughout the day, my internet would disconnect for less than 5 seconds then connect right back. Thus it has the 2 computer icon shown in the bottom right since i'm connected wired. But it would then disconnect and show the wifi signal no bars etc as if i'm not connected on wifi. Then after a few seconds it would connect right back and thus 2 computer icon showing again.

Does anyone know why my laptop does this? Someone had mentioned to me this could be because of google DNS? I have no idea what that is. But someone said that could be the reason.

Could it be my laptop? I'm thinking well since i'm not using original ethernet port because it broke... that shouldn't be issue since i connect an ethernet adapter to my usb port without any issues.

bump... someone tells me i could fix this by disabling my wifi. They said reason is because if it switches between wired and wifi, this is what happens. Does anyone know how do i do this? I was told there is a physical button i can click on to do this? Someone said i can also do this in bios but that is somethign i dont want to touch.

The thing is i want to be able to use wired most of the time. However, i also would like to use it as wifi later on so i would like to know if theres an easy way to do this. Such as a button or option thats quick and not like having to go to BIOs each time to turn wifi on and off.

I only have 1 ethernet cable and 1 computer here. I don't have another device to plug my ethernet cable into it. So how would i know if its my ethernet cable then?

Is there a chance it could be my ethernet adapter?

What about my usb ports? I do have 3 usb ports and one of them seem to have a bit of issue so i use the other 2.

Did you check with your ISP whether there is a general problem.
