Repair default gateway every 5 min is getting old

I figured out a fix. Hasn't happened since I installed the Vista 64 network drivers. Problem is I couldn't install them straight into windows 7 as I didn't get the option to select the network drivers when running setup. I extracted the drivers to a folder and manually specified the drivers in Win 7. Using the 15.25 forceware drivers. Hope this helps someone cuz I was ready to give up on Win 7.

how exactly did you install the vista 64 drivers? I'm having the same problem with losing connectivity but I don't understand how manually install the drivers. would I find them on the vista website, the install disc? sorry to be such a newb. I found the forceware you were talking about and im pretty sure i can find myself out of this problem once i find the drivers. thanks.

Right click on My Computer and select Manage
Click on Device Manager in the left hand pane
Expand Network Adapters
Right click on the first network card and select Update Driver
Select the 2nd option which says something like "Browse my computer"
Then select the 2nd option in the window that pops up that says "Let me pick from a list of device drivers"
Click the "Have Disk" button
Browse to the folder where you have the drivers extracted and the 15.25 drivers should show up.
Follow along and they'll be installed. I think you'll have to do it for the 2nd card if u have one but I'm not sure.

Folder should be called something like C:\NVIDIA\nForceWinVista64Int\15.25\Ethernet

In terms of the drivers, Just get them from nvidia's website or search google for nforce 15.25 ethernet. Hope this helps.

Not to be bumping old threads but I figured rather than make a new one, post here. I have had this issue with both my desktop and laptop. I updated the drivers on my desktop and it seemed to be ok but i did not use it for long before I had to leave so i do not know whether it fixed it or not.

I can post specs if need be but it will only be my laptop atm.
