sharing from win xp to win 7

    Hi,

I have a win xp laptop and win7 desktop. I want to transfer a file wirelessly from the laptop to the desktop. I made a home group for the win 7 and managed to get the laptop connected to the win 7 desktop. How do I transfer the file now?
I right clicked on the folder I want to share and there is now a "hand" showing under the folder. Please can you help me with the next step?

    thanks,

    Naveen

Windows XP can't use a Homegroup.
Only Win 7 (and newer Windows versions) can use a Homegroup.

Can computers running Windows XP or Windows Vista join a homegroup?
No. Only the Windows® 7 operating system supports HomeGroup. However, you can still share files among computers running the Windows XP®, Windows Vista®, or Windows 7 operating systems.

You could probably do what you want using WorkGroup or setting up Network Locations.
