Can ping IP addresses but not any urls = DNS issue?

    hi,

my skype stopped working - and i tried everything - then microsoft came into my computer and said its a DNS issue and skype needs a healthy local DNS.

At moment i can only ping IP addresses and not URLs, and MS said this is the problem that is stopping skype from working.

My details are below from an ipconfig / all. Is it a problem with my windows 7, isp, router, or skype?

This means your router is handling DNS. Go there are see what's cooking. I would use this order:

    • Reboot the router.
    • Change the DNS servers to, for instance, OpenDNS. Reboot.
    • Reset the router. You will then have to reconfigure.
    • Flash the router firmware.
