    no network connection - resolved

So I'm resurrecting my ASUS Laptop and spending a lot of time looking it over. I have visited this site a few times for some leads to some problems already. This morning, after doing some updates last night I noticed my network connection was not working. It had been working fine and it is still working on my desktop. After looking at all sorts of thing, trying different things and then going out and working on my sons Volvo for the rest of the day, I came back in and started looking again. I end up back here on the seven forum. I inter “no network connection” in the search box and press the search tab/magnifying glass and the first response to a similar problem back in 2014 from "UsernameIssues" to "drudder" was to:
Press and hold the Fn key...
    ...then press F2.
    ...release both keys.
That was the repair for me. What a dummy. I must have pressed the key combination at some point last night and not realized it. After this frustrating and lengthy proses for me and finding the resolve in less than a minute from your forum made, it me want to sigh on and keep tabs on this site. I don't know if I would be very helpful for others around here on computers, but if anyone has any car or truck questions, I would be glad to try and help. But then that’s what you-tube is for isn’t it. Anyway, Thanks for the reminder/tip. And in the words of Arnold, “I’ll be back.
    Thanks,
    Rod

But I might have done more than that. Maybe disabled wireless...?)

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

Press and hold the Fn key...
    ...then press F2.
    ...release both keys.

See if your wireless network shows when you mouse over the network icon by the clock.
Laptop has lost wireless internet connection, cannot find network

Glad to hear you found a solution. :)
