    DNS error,unknown trying to connect to the internet

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

    Multiple virus/malware scans are clean

    I am assuming that this (below) is that is trying to connect to the internet. Could someone please tell me from where this originates (location) on my computer?

    Thanks

    Name resolution for the name akamai.hearst.tv timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

    I found it in the registry, 17 entries and deleted them all.

    [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-DNS-Client
    [ Guid] {1C95126E-7EEA-49A9-A3FE-A378B03DDB4D}

    I get those errors occasionally but never thought to search the Registry--I assume you simply searched on the url akamai.hearst.tv?

    Thanks for coming-back and telling your solution.

    Many ISP use adamai to gather information.

    I know my ISP does. I just removed all of adamai from my systems and haven't had any problems. What removing adamai from your systems will do is not known by me.
