    Default Gateway is not available

I know this thread is old but I wanted to share my way and how I get rid of this problem.

Uninstalling your network adapter’s drivers can be the solution to try and fix the “Default gateway is not available” problem on Windows 8.

Don’t bother about uninstalling your network adapter’s drivers as Windows will detect your network adapter once it reboots and then reinstall its drivers.

Search and open the Device Manager. Expand the Network adapters. Right-click on the network adapter that you are currently using (Broadcom 802.11a Network Adapter – for example). Click on Uninstall. Check the action. Restart your computer, and your network adapter will be detected and its drivers reinstalled once your computer boots up.

I hope this helps. If this way does not help in any case then I have listed some other links. You can refer to them.
