    bluetooth file transfer problem appdata/user/temp

    hi all

i have a new dell latitude E6230 and have just installed the wireless bluetooth 380 module 6.5.4000,a02

when i send the file from my blackberry the file appears in the C:\Users\000000\AppData\Local\Temp location and not in my desired location (bluetooth exchange folder) i have specified the destination folder in both bluetooth and device setting locations with no effect, they still go to to C:\Users\000000\AppData\Local\Temp

does anybody have any idea how this can be fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    apreciation in advance

    Hi bigmoxy1,

    Welcome to Seven forums.

You should be able to change the default location of the default folder from the software itself. And if it still stores the received files in the wrong directory then you should remove the drivers and then download them from the link below:

    http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER0133...1.4000_A02.EXE

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

    hi sandeep

as i mentioned i downloaded the sofware from the link you suggested. unfortunately there was not change. the file when transmitted still does not go to my requested detination file but to the C:\Users\000000\AppData\Local\Temp

on mhy old hp laptop this used to work no problem. when i i first send a file the my pc ask me to select software to open the file with . once transfered the file automatically opens. on my hp the file used to transfer to the bluetooth exchange folder and i could open it there.

on the dell if i send multiple files they all open and do not go to the destination file but only to the temp file

    Hi bigmoxy1,

Thanks for your reply. Under Bluetooth settings you should be able to change the default folder for the exchange. Please check the image below:

Please select as your preferred folder and let us know if it helps.

    Hi bigmoxy1,

Thanks for your reply. Kindly right click the bluetooth icon at the bottom corner of the screen. And then you should be able to access bluetooth settings of the system.

Then you should be able to change the default folder of received bluetooth files of the system. If you face any issues then kindly post the screenshot of the settings page.

If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us.

    Hi bigmoxy1,

I appreciate the time and effort that you took to troubleshoot the issue.

I understand that even after changing the folder as well you were facing the same issues with the system. It seems to be an issue with the Windows installation on the system rather than software.

You should try the below troubleshooting for windows which should help you resolve this issue:
