LAN Connection - Unidentified Network: No Network Access

On my laptop I just noticed this appearing when I hover over the Wifi bar indicator in the right hand corner.

I have no way of deleting this connection, I also don't need it nor do I know how it got their in the first place. It also shows up as a Public network. Furthermore, in Network Connections it shows up as TAP - Windows Adapter V9. I can't delete it but I can disable it.

There is no option to remove from the Network and Sharing Centre. Any suggestions on how to delete/remove?

    Thanks

Are you using a VPN by chance?

Instead of deleting it you have to uninstall it, Right click and select properties then select configure then select drivers then select uninstall.

Be advised that it maybe there for a reason, Uninstalling it may break some program that you have installed.

    An example:
Auto KMS for Licencing Microsoft products
And as rvcjew said VPN software
    Comodo antivirus / firewall
    Microsoft Office

I have actually just cured this same problem on my Win7/64 desktop. I was trying to solve a problem of dropouts in my internet access, using windows Troubleshooter, when suddenly a "Network 2" appeared in Network & Sharing. I had no idea where this came from: it was a Public Network with no internet access.

Fortunately my desk is on wheels, so I drew the workstation away from the wall to take a look. That's when I noticed the crossover cable connecting my PC to another beneath the desk. I had forgotten that I was planning to set up the other PC for sale, being diverted from that yesterday by a repair to a friend's laptop. Disconnected the crossover and the bogey network 2 disappeared, internet acces returned. Such a simple thing to forget, time to start leaving myself notes!
