Network adapter not recognized after Windows 7 install. Dell XPS L502
Hello, all. The hdd on my Dell XPS recently failed, and, not being a smart person, I did not create a backup. I reinstalled Windows 7 onto the machine, and it installed and boots correctly. When I attempt to connect to the internet, Network Diagnostics gives the following error:
Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver.
So I attempted to install the drivers with ProWin64. This gives the following error:
Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer.
The adapter is listed under 'Other devices' in my device manager, with a yellow triangle. My Ethernet controller, PCI Simple Communications Controller, SM Bus Controller, USB Controller, and another Unknown device also have the same problem, but I'm not as worried about those. The hardware IDs given for the device are as follows:
PSI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&SUBSYS_52218086&REV_34
PSI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&SUBSYS_52218086
PSI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&CC_028000
PSI\VEN_8086&DEV_0091&CC_0280
However, I have no idea what to do with this information. What's my next step here?
