How to automate rebooting when network link is down?

    Hello

I have no knowledge on batch programming or scripting on Windows 7. My requirement is to reboot Windows 7 Professional machine automatically when network link (wired) is down. We can also do a ping to a remote host (which is always UP) and if that fails, we can initiate a reboot.

If we can setup a batch file to perform this we can perhaps add it into the Windows scheduler to check every 5 or 10 minutes. Could anyone please provide me a full batch file for this requirement?

    Many thanks!

I can think of some complicated ways of doing this using a batch file, but let's see what others post.

I would use a scripting tool like AutoIt. If no one posts a batch file, I'll try and put together some AutoIt code for you.
