    Unidentified network

I just setup my 2nd PC for network sharing, its all working perfectly except for the ethernet cable thats connecting the two or i should say both cables from my machines are connected to a switch, my problem is i have unidentified network and the Public network is greyed out.

I'm using wireless internet and thats showing as EE so thats fine.

    I'm running windows 7

I've also tried this solution but no joy Windows 7 Unidentified Network, Limited Access, No Internet Connection Problem Resolved

    Cheers

If I read this right you have the 2 pc connected via a switch only is that correct? If that is the case there is no dhcp server for them to get an ip so they will revert to 169 range ie unidentified

Yes that is correct both are going to my switch. I'm not clued up on this, but sounds like its normal behaviour then? But how do i change it from public to home or private? From the dropbox link its greyed out. Or is public just as good?

As there is no dhcp give them a static ip pc1 ip 10.0.0.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 pc2 10.0.0.2 subnet 255.255.255.0
