when changing from wireless to LAN the icon doesnt change

when changing from wireless to LAN the icon doesnt change in the system tray.
It looks as if I keep two ip addresses instead of you..
for instance. I had a meeting in another location of the office. I used our companies wireless.
now that im back at my desk. when i put the cable back in, it still has the wireless icon and not the LAN icon.
    What does this mean?
    how can i change this?

Need to switch to LAN for stable & better speed.

Right click on the icon, and select "Open Network and Sharing Center".

On the left panel, select Change adapter setting.

Select the Wireless Network Connection. Then right click and select "Disable". Meaning you want to switch off the wireless.

Select the Local Area Connection. Then right click and select "Enable". Meaning you want to switch on the LAN.

Close all the windows, and wait for the connection.

As you have turn on the wireless, it will ignore the LAN, even if you connect the LAN.

It is not so good to have 2 connection as "Enable".

Im on a Dell 3450 Laptop and this is happening on all the PC in our network.. trying to look for a way to change it so that it automatically disconnects from wireless when connected to LAN.and disables LAN when automatically connected to wifi. Hope this makes sense.

Are you rebooting when you change back and forth from Lan to WiFi?

Would it be a problem rebooting and see if the computer picks up the new connections?
