    You are Welcome.

    Take note:

Hang on, may not necessary to get Chromecast.

Chromecast will be built in to the Chrome browser.

    Refer to this Link:

Google Cast is now built-in to Chrome

    Eric.

Thank you Eric. You are correct. But you still need the ChromeCast Device on the TV end to receive the WiFi Signal and convert it to HDMI.

    You are right.

More like a short-cut in the Chrome browser, instead of open another program.

The ability to cast to a device is now common in modern smart TVs ( the ability to cast is actually built into Windows 10) older TVs will need the device new ones will not.

It's perfectly valid to have an Ethernet and a wireless connection concurrently active to the same network or have them connected to differing networks or a direct connection to a device.

I have used this property many times for the purpose of Industrial Network Infrastructure - Using a PC as a remote Wireless / Ethernet router ( many server devices will have multiple network ports both Ethernet and wireless)
