Windows 7: Accessing multi drive enclosure

Accessing multi drive enclosure

I have an ICY Dock 4 bay drive enclosure that is attached to a Win 7 machine that i would like to be able to access from a few other machines, an iMac, a mac book pro and another Win 7 Ultimate machine.

In the past I have been able to access the Icy Dock (ID) through a very convoluted and bassackward form of windows sharing. I had to go into advanced sharing and change permissions and a half dozen other things that eventually let me access the ID most of the time.

I recently had to buy a new 16 port hub and a wireless router and since doing that I have been unsuccessful in reestablishing a connection to the ID. I have not tried much yet because all of the setting are still intact in the advanced sharing of the folders on the drives.

Can someone help me establish a way to share this drive bay with these other machines. Please don't suggest a NAS setup, that will not work for me. I have been down that road and it is not the solution for me.

Windows home group does not seem to work for any number of reasons and I don't know if the home group feature will allow an OSX machine access. I will gladly supply all of the network equipment model numbers if needed. I would like to know if I am in the right area for this question before I go too far.
