    VPN information

Hopefully this is posted I the right section. I am trying to learn how to set up a vpn, between my hp g60 635dx notebook, and my Verizon Motorola droid turbo. My internet brighthouse . I've made a couple of attempts using Verizon support, and brighthouse support. Both recommended the other. A hopeless circle.I also tried just using google search. I got further there than other tech support attempts. This isn't really a vital need but would really like to know how to do this. Thanks for any help.

What sort of VPN are you taking about.

By internal, meaning within you home network.

Or VPN internet, which required VPN service provider.
They assign you a username & password to login and you select the country.
As such external internet VPN is provide as.
Only difference is an unknown IP Address which this VPN have.

Both do not know what you want.

Normal VPN is about getting a VPN Service, which i select PureVPN, which have many location with IP Address.

But do note VPN only hide your IP Address to the website you visit.
But your local ISP and VPN provider do have they log should there be a problem.

I will give you the same info as them, since you are not sure what sort of VPN.
Do note VPN is just like another ISP, but they also hold other country IP Address for connection.
Don't forget there is a monthly subscription you need to pay, as i said again, just like ISP.
But should any movie owner want to sue you for download their copy-write movies, you are liable.
The Court and ISP will have to provide your details as order by Courts.

    My vpn?

Hi, yes thank you for the reply. It is a vpn between my android phone, and my windows 7 home premium computer. Verizon is my provider for phone. Brighthouse is my cable, and internet provider for computer. Both Verizon, and brighthouse tell me that I do have access to a vpn connection provided by their companies, and that I already pay for this service. Neither of the companies tech support's seem to be able to provide me with enough information to make this possible. I do not understand this. I do understand though that I already pay for the service, and windows , my phone has the ability to do this, I just need to know what information goes to what line in the setting up (user name, pws, etc. ) each one of them have different ways to say the same thing. I also know that I need to know which ports to open between the two. I already have ports 25, and 80, and have seen that I also need to have 1723 port forwarded which I haven't done yet. I still think my problem is where to put my personal info for each setup provision. Hopefully this will help me get the correct information.

Seem that all your supports give you a raw deal, by pushing you around.

This should be Brighthouse issue, as Verizon do not handle this service.

For me, i go direct to my VPN on my own, as it is no point to go to ISP.
As partner, the other party will not held support and responsibility.

Did you manage to get the VPN company from Brighthouse.
You may have to deal with your VPN service.

If you did a research on this VPN, there are many different ways & method on how VPN do.
Some use certain setting in the router, or get the router from the VPN.

In your case, it is the setting.
Suggest you to go straight to the VPN support.

I did some research and did asked fellow customer on this PureVPN.
At least he did provided some info, then i can make the decision.

    Eric.
