Internet speed dropped right off fix!

If you've had a drastic drop in internet speed and your ISP tech support was of no help. "No Big Surprise By The Way" This may help. It could be down to modem firmware. Know it or not your ISP updates your modem firmware some once a week. At times the firmware may not take due to hardware issues in the modem or bad packets. "Yes This Does Happen" I thought I would share this with you because this happened to me of resent. My access dropped from 15.85 Mbps to 2.30 Mbps. I thought it was my ISP and it was on there end. They said nothing was detected on their end So I had them send a tech out. He switched out the modem with a new updated one and I'm up to speed... Two days later the speed issue was back. So I Called my ISP and they said all checked out on there end and sent out another tech... In the meantime I was mashing out what the problem could be! That's when I had an epiphany.... Why didn't I think of this before! Factory Default Reset on the Modem... So I set the modem back to factory default and BAM!! My speed was back! That's when the tech arrived and confirmed my suspicions. He left me a new modem if my modem had hardware issues. Back to speed!

This is for the tech savvy folk here. If you have this issue and you don't know what to do please make a post in the hardware section and we are more then happy to help you.
