    weird ping behavior

when internet is down and i ping some sites this is what happens when i ping an IP address

Pinging 157.55.152.112 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination net unreachable.

    Ping statistics for 157.55.152.112:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

why its getting reply from 192.168.1.1

and when it says Destination net unreachable. how come the received packets are 4 when it should be zero

yes thats the router IP address, however if it cant reach the target, then why received packets are 100%

what does net mean in Destination net unreachable does it mean network or something else

The packets received are from the router as it replied Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination net unreachable.
it means either the network is down or the site is down

The router returned the packets, so you did receive them 100%, if you did not receive anything you would get a 0% result which would strongly suggest a router issue
