No wireless card in device manager - dell e6500

    Hi there,
I have a Dell latitude e6500 on which I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32 (clean install).
After the install, I had no wireless connectivity so I checked device manager and my wireless card is not there. It doesn’t have an exclamation mark next to it, it’ missing from the list.
I’ve searched for help on the web but with no success. People are mostly saying to download the necessary drivers. I’ve tried this however I get an error message that says ‘this software package cannot be installed on your sistem’
Also tried with uncrewing bottom of laptop and reseated card, still nothing.
I have to mention that wi fi was working fine on the same sistem before new clean install.
    Please help

Did you install the chipset drivers? Dell laptops are very particular about the order of driver installation.
