Unidentified Public Network - No Internet through Ethernet Cable

To summarize: Telus replaced a non-fuctioning Modem/Router hybrid, and now I my computer unable to connect to thr Internet. Frustratingly both the wi-fi and the other computer connected through an Ethernet cable can connect no problem.

I tried uninstalling the Networking Adpter's driving and then reinstalling them, resetting the txp/ip setting woth Microsoft's Fixit program, forcing a registery alteration to force into it seeing the connect as a work connection instead of a public one, and went into the Neteork Adpter Propeties and into thr IPV4 setting to change the adresses listed on my router's config page. None of this worked. At this point, I'm tempted to reinstall the OS to try and resolve this.

Would someone happen to know a solution to the problem that haunts me so? Thank you.

Edit: I also bridged the gateway to a different router and ran the connction through that: Still no luck on my computer (the other one works fine, however).

Solution on my end:
Either forcing it to identifying the network as my Home Network (through differing Networking cable) or using a different Ethernet cable and then switching back ended up fixing the issue.

Ok mate go ahead with what samuria has advised and then if you haven't already updated the network adaptor (LAN) from here Access Denied

Lets go with these things and see what happens.

I went ahead with uninstalling and then reinstalling the network's adapter's drivers; no luck there.

IP Config results: Faulty and Working.

Strangely enough, if a moment of seeing what does and doesn't work, I switched out the Ethernet cable with the working one, and signal came through properly. After that, I was given the option on whether I wanted to label the "new" connection Home, Work or Public. Choosing Home, I reconnected the (supposedly) non-working cable and now I have a connection to the Internet.

So either forcing it to identifying the network as my Home Network or using a different Ethernet cable and then switching back ended up fixing the issue. Thank you your guys' help!

Good to hear mate and it may just have been that old cable is not up to scratch.

I personally would certainly look at replacing with a good quality one and I always buy the CAT 6a cables simply because of the better quality, connectivity, and the speed of the connection.

This is really good and short (thank heavens) article on that What Kind of Ethernet (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) Cable Should I Use?
