    Slow Wireless Network File Tranfer

Why is my laptop having slow file transfer speeds?

803 kb/s is what is in the attached image. Usual speeds are ranging from 200 kb/s to 450 kb/s.

    1. Connection: Wireless

    2. ISP: AT&T

    3. Broadband: DSL (I believe)

    4. Uncertain of the exact Make and Model of my Modem, Router or Modem/Router Combo -
Recently returned a ATT U-verse for servicing.
We have in the policy the option to upgrade to a full U-verse subscription plan.

    5. Anti-Virus: Avast! Free Anti-virus

You don't say on the post which is your station but on the scan they are all on channel 1 so they will interfere with each other anti virus can effect it as it can scan on read then write. If your router is g type max speed is 50 Meg for n 300 Meg new AC 3 gig

I'm not sure what "station" means or what it is. May I have help to find my station so I can post its info here?

All of them being on channel 1 can interfere with each other? What are the steps to change the channel I am on or is that even possible?

My next post will be the router information, however how do I determine what type of router I'm using? The paperwork that came with the router has been misplaced.

What components of anti-virus can effect the file transfer speed over a wireless home network between mine and my wife's laptops?
