Windows 7: VPN connection repeatedly asks for password credentials

VPN connection repeatedly asks for password credentials

I run an office network domain environment with Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows 7 x64 workstation clients throughout, using Active Directory. I have one user who sometimes connects from home, through a VPN connection, on his home PC running Windows 7. He said it used to work fine up until about a month ago, and now while working the VPN connection will pop up every 5 minutes or so asking him to re-enter his password. Nothing has changed on the server end.

Any thoughts as to what may have caused this? I have asked him to try removing the connection and re-creating it to see what happens.
