WIFI won`t work , but ethernet cable does.

My wifi connection won't work, and every time I try to troubleshoot it, it says "Plug an ethernet cable into this cumputer". I have never connected my laptop to an Ethernet cable, so I'm wondering if I had deleted something (I usually delete things I don't really need). All of the devices in my house are able to connect the wifi just fine, but for some reason my laptop won't. (I cant really get a ethernet cable because i usually move my laptop so i cant move the ethernet cable) My wifi switch isnt working.

    Thanks.

Does the network properties show you have a wireless adapter and is it also in device manager. If you open a cmd prompt and type ipconfig /all and post results that will tell us

Please update you system specs, without this information it is virtually impossible to provide assistance. It looks from your image that you do not have a wireless adaptor installed

The immediate thing that shows there is that there is no wireless network adaptor listed

    NETWORK
    Manufacturer : Realtek
Name : Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
    Adapter Type : Ethernet 802.3
    MAC Address : 1C:C1E:A1D:34
Connection Name : Local Area Connection
    Connection status : Media disconnected
    Enabled : False
All this relates to a disabled ethernet adaptor

You need to check the system documentation, discover the details of the wireless network, obtain the drivers (from the HP site), and install them

The alternative is to purchase a USB stick wireless adaptor which comes with Windows 7 drivers or has them available (not as easy as it used to be as most on sale are now set-up for Windows 10)
