My internet connection is fine, but sometimes , it goes off randomly

    Hi,
My router is new and Dlink. It is working fine. I have just changed the dns to google for security. But suddenly internet connection would cut, with the modem light blinking and then would show red light in the telephone connection before connecting with green light. i could not see any wrong settings in the connection or in the circuit. If there is i would notget the internet connection.
What is making this interruption in the connection. I scanned with avast wifi inspector and the dlink router has no vulnerabilities. I could not understand , sudden off of internet access. this also happens, if the link takes some time to show.
My telephone works fine. Is there any software that woud give the cause of the sudden cut pl

Are you on ADSL or ADSL 2+ if the router is dropping the line it either line fault, filter fault or router set wrong or faulty. Is it a new connection if to is it takes time to settle it gives you a fast speed and if it drops it reduces it until you get a stable connection

s it a new connection if to is it takes time to settle it gives you a fast speed and if it drops it reduces it until you get a stable connection
Please explain this . It is ofcourse new router, but about a year usage.
If the line is at fault, then i will not get the internet access at all.

As you says that i get disconnected suddenly and then the cable line to modem would just blink off, without the other green light, and then after fast blinkings of the same, the red light would show, then becomes the green to denote that the connection is established.
Is there any software, that would show, why this is happening? i am not resetting , as i have to re configure the same with the service provider.
Moreover, i would like to tell you , that once when i am connected again, the next link i touch would Redirect the web page to my service provider page and will stay there. After i cancel and click the same link again to get to the new webpage.
Is there any thing that you could guess, pl

You can have a line fault and still get a intermittent connection the router should have a lot to tell you the problem

Hi, Would you elaborate on this. How to check line test. Should i approach the ISP to check . Do you wish to say that there may be issues in the cable connection, i.e., that it is connecting sometimes and if strong winds blows, then it gets disconnected and once it subsides, you get the connection. or in the internet connection ,
How to ascertain the line fault? Is there any software app that would check. Is there any online free site that would check it. I checked sheilds up and everything is fine. But it only touches the ports and connections vulnerabilities.
can i use network diagnostics other than the window provided to know the exact nature of line fault.
Since most of the time it is connected, the cause is very difficult to find. But i want to get rid of the problem. What is the sollution

I enclose the report from mlab
    Your system: -
    Plugin version: - (-)

TCP receive window: 103660 current, 136320 maximum
0.23 % of packets lost during test
Round trip time: 82 msec (minimum), 166 msec (maximum), 89 msec (average)
    Jitter: -
0.29 seconds spend waiting following a timeout
    TCP time-out counter: 289
    70 selective acknowledgement packets received

No duplex mismatch condition was detected.
The test did not detect a cable fault.
    No network congestion was detected.

0.9586 % of the time was not spent in a receiver limited or sender limited state.
0.0000 % of the time the connection is limited by the client machine's receive buffer.
    Optimal receive buffer: - bytes
    Bottleneck link: -
    69 duplicate ACKs set

Pl see that this test did not detect a cable fault.
what the other tech details say, i do not know

As stated the router logs will tell you it will state why it drops. Having the cable close to a power source can cause it
