Controlling permission for Sub-folder

I'm having a problem sharing strictly a sub-folder to other computers. I want strictly the sub-folder to only have Read access, not write access by any computers accessing the sub-folder; while the parent folder has read/write access. Brinks has throw some suggestions mine way but none have worked of those suggestions or that I've already tried.

I enabled share this folder for the sub-folder, set a user for the sub-folder by going Select Users or Groups > Advanced > Find Now; but when trying to access the sub-folder by another computer other then the host computer sharing the sub-folder I'm prompt that I don't have permission ?
