    Selecting & using a VPN

Win 7 home 64 bit. I've been thinking of getting a VPN subscription, maybe using this place https://www.vpnunlimitedapp.com/en, $36/year. Any thoughts on VPN's in general (practical matters, does it "run" all the time (all Internet traffic), how does using the VPN effect speed, access to different sites, using it with binary newsgroups & torrents, etc.) tips on selecting one, any experience with this particular company or recommendations for another, etc. appreciated.

    TIA

I've been using the free version of AnchorFree HotSpot Shield for quite a while. It does what is says it does if you don't mind slower speeds and banner ads. These articles in no particular order might help. Other articles are out there. Just search for "why I should use a vpn" and "why I should not use a vpn".
