Problems with sharing media in homegroup

    Hello'
I am trying to stream media from my homegroup computers "Win. 7" and then i get to a page that wants me to "add an online ID provider? and asks you to click here to add it. when I click it it takes me to a microsoft help page which tells me everything I want to know about everything except online ID provider!
Where is this ID? what is it? or where do i go to get it? I have been fooling with this for weeks now and it is really starting to piss me off....It should not be this difficult to stream media on your home network/homegroup. for the love of God someone pls help me

Welcome to the forum. It's not clear what your doing and what's giving the error. Are you just sharing a media folder on a PC or using something else?

Ok, I have windows 7 I have a video file with all my movies in it...the file is in share with homegroup / read & write. then it tells me to go to windows media player and enable streaming "which i do" in the stream tab of WMP it is set at " automatically allow devices to play my media" It has 3 options 1. allow internet access to home media 2. allow remote control of my player. 3. automatically allow devices to play my media. and option 3 is checked and when i click on option 3 it pops up a box that says "media streaming is not turned on" and it gives me the option to turn it on which i do, then it brings up another box that shows all my computers and my TV and gives me the option to include the device in the stream or not " I have all devices set to "Allow" then I click ok. So at this point I should be ready to stream to any of my devices........I go to my TV bring up the page that shows my computer, click on it and it opens up and shows all my different files...I click on what I want to watch and a box pops up on my TV saying that for 1 reason or another it cannot open or play it! "and not because of a codec issue or anything else like that.

Now if I download programs like Servio it plays to the TV just fine...but it is a trial and u have to pay for it "which I am not gonna do" Or shouldnt have to if my computer would stream like it is supposed to......and if I click on 1 of the other 3 options for streaming in WMP it wants me to link some ID to that I have no idea what the ID is.

read this message as the first one u got and then read the 1st one I sent u 2nd and you'll have the whole story. and if u still cant understand what I am saying I cannot explain it any better than I have here! If u can help me Great! If not thanks a million for at least trying.... cause your the only 1 that has even looked at it
