I saw the link after I solved my problem, so I didn't bother to follow it....

    What I suggest....

Make sure all three PCs are set up with the same Work Group....I set them up as WORKGROUP...from what I read, HOMEGROUP is very specific and can only be used by Win 7...not XP.

Don't know if you use passwords, but I didn't on any of my PCs....I set up a same named User(from the Control Panel) on all computers with the same Password. Then, as a test, sign on to both PCs with this new logon....if I'm right, you shud be able to browse the Win 7 PC from XP as well as XP from Win 7...

If this works, logoff the XP computer and then logon using a different user...when you go to browse the Win 7 PC, you shud be prompted for a User/Password combination. Enter the ID and Password of the new User. You shud be then be able to browse the shares on the Win 7 PC....

    Hope it works....

Not sure what to tell you to fix the problem, but as far as I can tell....
    • In order to browse the various PCs, they must be part of the same Workgroup

    • An XP PC cannot be setup in a HOMEGROUP Workgroup.

    • There must be a user with the same name and password set up on each computer.

    • Users and passwords are setup in the User Control Panel app...

    Good luck...
