Network Monitoring Software
Hey guys and gals, I've had some internet connection issues on and off over the years. Sometimes it is very frustrating because Comcast/Xfinity won't admit they have a problem. The first time this happened there was an almost city wide issue, with television and internet. It took thirteen days before it was resolved and Four Tech's (if you can call them that) out to my house. All of them agreed that the problem was outside the house because they checked, but still forced me to let them in or said that they could not help if I didn't let them in. I said: "This problem is outside and I can't afford for you guys to keep coming in and charging me" He told me: "No, there will be no charge as I can see the problem is outside" Well they tried to charge me. I'm happy with Comcast and they fixed the bill.
But now having the same issues as before and want to find a program that is easy to use and read, to see small disconnects in internet connection, is this possible?
I've tried Pinging different websites, but the infrequency is to much. Once and a while I can catch the disconnect if I try for a long time with constant pinging. I assume there is something in windows 7 that reports stuff like this also? Event Viewer or something? I tried using Task Manager to watch, but that was not telling me anything.
There is also the possibility that this is a hardware issue, as I don't want to discount all possibilities. Should I start with the Hardware. I guess I could test this problem on another computer, that would be easy enough, but again, it is infrequent.
I keep getting "NO INTERNET CONNECTION HELP" in Yahoo Mail?
And, keep seeing a Red X on the Ethernet Icon in Task Bar?
Keep getting small disconnects in what I'm doing also, like sending emails, posting on forums. Surprised I haven't downloaded something that broke my system, actually may have. torchwood helped me HERE with some CBS Logs. But that was also do to some Power issues that surely corrupted my OS. Now that seems to be all repaired. We seemed to be having problems with Avast, and now it makes sense to me that I downloaded Avast during this issue, but did not know it at the time.
All the while streaming music on youtube with no troubles.
Sorry for the long post, Networking issues elude me.
