    HomeGroup password cannot be viewed

I have been trying, for almost an hour now, to access the Home Group network. Unfortunately, I cannot view the password. I clicked on the "view password" link repeatedly, I looked at various solutions online, however, none were successful, the Microsoft support page was not effective. I have tried all of the conventional means to view the password, and to change it. Nothing has worked. I am trying to add another system to the Home group. However, I do not recall ever setting it up, and I do not think anything was ever added to it. However, I don't know the password to even access it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If any other information is needed, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    James

can you leave the existing HomeGroup and recreate it?

also make sure you logged in as 'Admin' instead of common user.

I don't know if I can. How could I try to do that?

Yes, I've done that, to no effect.

do you have more than one computer on the 'Homegroup'? if so, you need to remove 'homegroup' from every computer.
    Navigate to
    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\HomeGroup
and leave home group. Repeat for every computer on the network.
Reboot all computers and go though the process of setting up a group on one computer and then joining the others to it.

Make sure that you log in as 'admin' and recreate the Homegroup.

I don't know, as I cannot access anything on the Homegroup. I've been on the Homegroup tab in excess of fifty times, I did not see any means of removing it from a computer. Do you know how to?

I made a new Homegroup. But I can't seem to get the hard drive that I want to share on the Homegroup, which was the entire point of my trying to do this.

    Any ideas?
