Can no longer copy or create folders on shared XP drive.

I can no longer copy or create folders on my XP shared drive from any of my other PC's. I get error 0x8007051b This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object.

This trouble just started within the last week. I unshared the drive and shared again but it changed nothing.

    Any solution?

Welcome to the forum. Are you trying to create a folder of a share or other the problem is you don't have NTFS rights someone else owns the folder either do it on the XP PC or you will have to change NTFS rights

Yes, I know it's a rights issue, but I had rights for the last 4 or 5 years. That is, I could copy files from my win 7 and 10 machines to the XP machine. Now all of a sudden I cant. I changed nothing that should have caused this, at least that I'm aware of. I tried a system restore but it said it didn't complete successfully. Tried several other points, same.

Question is how do I get the rights back?

Problem solved. Since the only changes made were by Malwarebytes and AVG updates I uninstalled both. Problem fixed.

Re-Installed Malwarebytes, still ok. Re-Installed AVG, problem returned.

At least now I know where to start looking for the problem, AVG.
