Any help on sharing folders on a home computers PLEASE

Have asked this question under Setting up a home group without any success.

samuria tells me...
It's simpler to just use workgroup as that is active by default and less hassle than homegroup
WHY?

If I right click on a folder I get the option of
Share with Home group (read)
Share with Home group (read/write)

Were is the optiobn to share as a work group.

I only want to share a folder on a drive [Z] not the whole partiton.

Can anyone understand this?????

When I do go for home group (which I am advised NOT to do), I get a windows media interface asking to select pictures, music, videos etc. I just want to share the entire contents of that folder.

I am then asked to type in a bloody password. What password. These are home computers they don't have passwords.

Ms has made password compulsory on networks now if you don't have password your PC is at risk as any malware hacker virus can spread with no problems
