Mulitple networks but only one computer pings the other

OK, sorry for the obscure title, please let me explain.

I am using a pair of laptops (trying to keep the example relatively simple) each with Ethernet and WiFi adapters (have done this now and again over the years), example:

Laptop1 - Ethernet adapter with IP 10.0.2.10
Laptop2 - Ethernet adapter with IP 10.0.2.20
Laptop1 - WiFi adapter with IP 10.0.3.10
Laptop2 - WiFi adapter with IP 10.0.3.20

So, Laptop1 can sucessfully > PING -t 10.0.2.20
and Laptop2 can sucessfully > PING -t 10.0.2.10
ok, ethernet works both ways.

But Laptop1 gets a Request timed out on > PING -t 10.0.3.20
whilst Laptop2 can succesfully > PING -T 10.0.3.10
dang, WIFI works in one direction but not the other!?

What am I missing? what might be causing such a problem? things to look at?
Firewalls are OK (even turned off).
Router sees both Laptops.
Suggestions?

Hmmm, left the network idle for a few hours and returned and it's working. Glad it is, but confused as to what the problem was.

They are on different subnets so you can't see them. Normally ping only broadcast on its own subnet so will know nothing of the other subnet. One is on 2 the other on 3 if you need to connect you need to use route cmd to tell it were to get to the other subnet

No, please re-read my original post, thank you.

One is on 2 AND 3.
The other is on 2 AND 3.
EACH PC is on EACH SUBNET, as described in my original post.

Each PC uses ETHERNET on one subnet.
Each PC uses WIFI on another subnet.
One PC can see the other.
The other PC could not see the first, but only has this problem on WIFI, it worked FINE on ETHERNET.

The first PC can ping the other PC via both ethernet AND wifi.
The second PC could not ping the first PC via ethernet but NOT wifi.
ROUTE PRINT shows no routing IPv4 or IPv6 active routes on either PC.
Wait a while (it was an hour or so) and the pings worked fine from either PC.

Pings WORK from either PC, I was wondering what the problem was caused by, that has since cleared itself up.
