Internet (Wifi & Ethernet) suddenly stopped - Linux & VMs working!

I've never seen this before - most people come to ME for help.

Windows 7 - I am unable to connect to anything on the internet.

My wireless card and my Ethernet card connect just fine to the router, but that is where it ends.
No, it is NOT my router blocking me.

I multi boot my machine, and I can boot a 2nd version of windows 7 and it connects just fine.
I can boot into Linux, and it connects just fine.
I can boot into the OS that is not connecting and start a Windows VM with a bridged connector, and the VM connects just fine THROUGH the wifi & Ethernet cards on the HOST that isn't getting out to the internet.

    I've tried:
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
    Reboot the machine.

    . . . that doesn't work.

    I'm at a loss here.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks for the help.

The wireless get the correct IP etc from cmd prompt type

    Tracert 194.119.131.66

    Then
    Ping Adobe.com

Post both results. What is the VPN you have it may be worth removing it for now

    Trace complete.

    C:\Windows\system32>ping adobe.com

Pinging adobe.com [193.104.215.58] with 32 bytes of data:
    General failure.
    General failure.
    General failure.
    General failure.

    Ping statistics for 193.104.215.58:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
Standby, I'll remove the VPN. I actually have 2 different ones (Both paid for, not 'Free'). Never had an issue for years, but I'll remove just the same and report back.

    SUCCESS!

Thanks So Much for the assistance Samurai.

There was something off with the VPN. I uninstalled it and instantly I was back on line.
I reinstalled it, and everything is fine.

That VPN had a "firewall" component to it . . . but it shouldn't have been active when it was shut down.
Uninstalling (and subsequently reinstalling) it is functioning properly (firewall enabled or not - that feature is not staying active when the application is closed).

I was in Shanghai a few days ago when I used it last - maybe it was VPN jetlag

    Again, Thanks for the assistance!

    Marked as Solved.

Its a known fault with Firewalls it sees local network as ok but if you logon to another network with different ip range if that get set as local then you go back home it then sees the homes a public and locks it down
