    Wireless Network Adapter problem has been kicking my butt, help


    I'm no computer expert by the loosest of definitions, I know just enough to get me into trouble, and that's where you will often find me. my wife's HP G60 Notebook (64bit) wont connect to our hot spot, or any wireless source. first message I get is. "the Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems" then I investigated further, and got this message. "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter" I searched some through past threads about this, and followed the advice given there to a guy who had what appeared to be the same issues as I, but no deal for me. I did the command prompt - netsh int ip reset etc, etc command and it was no help. I have deleted the drivers and restarted, no help, I've downloaded drivers for the adapters, no help. the message I'm getting now when I try to connect to a network, is "There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless Network connection adapter" We don't have the recovery/installation disc that came with it, (yeah I know) if we could go back to factory settings etc like it was when we bought it, that would be fine, if that would fix it. but not sure best way to do that. sorry so wordy, and appreciate any help, I'm at my minds end, ty

    Do a Windows update. Look at the Optional updates. If there are any which appear to relate to wifi, networking, lan, etc., install only those updates. See if that fixes things.

    I don't have internet access on the Notebook. Not sure how that would solve the binding stack thing though, I've tried a lot of stuff, and am thinking it's not going to be that easy of a fix. Was thinking that maybe only a Recovery taking it back to factory settings etc. would fix it. But I don't have the original factory disk. I am going to try and use the HP Recovery program to fix it, though it says its best to have internet connection for it, and again, there lies the problem. any ideas on that? thanks much

    I ran the HP Recovery manager, and ALL IS SOLVED, Thankyou for your time, I appreciate the effort man.

    I suggest that you create a set of Factory Restore disks, if you can find that option on your HP computer. Having those disks will be invaluable should your hard disk crash and you have to replace the hard disk. And you won't have to go through the hassle of trying to order a set of these disks from HP.

    HP lets you make one set of disks. I suggest you make that one set, carefully going through the process so that you don't make a critical mistake on your one chance to make these disks. Have a few extra blank disks, just in case one is bad. And use DVD+R disks. And have a permanent marker handy, so that you can label each disk as it is made.
