Windows 7: Bluetooth Devices page opens Properties instead of Connect Page

Bluetooth Devices page opens Properties instead of Connect Page

This is probably very easy to fix, but I can't figure it out.

When I open the Bluetooth Devices page by right-clicking the Bluetooth icon and double-click on the icon of the device I want to connect to, it opens that device's Properties instead of the connection page. Because of this, I have no way to connect them.

Any help?

Hi aroteer, welcome to Seven Forums,

Are you sure that Bluetooth is enabled?
Are there any yellow triangles in the Device Manager?

I hope this helps!

Yes, Bluetooth is enabled.
There are no yellow triangles as far as I can see.

Hi aroteer,

I know that this sounds like a strange thing to ask, but, have you rebooted to see if that resolves the problem?

I Googled your problem and found that the below corrected it for some people:

[1] Go to Devices and Printers.
[2] Right-click the device icon, and select Control. A dialogue Bluetooth Device Control appears.
[3] Click Disconnect, then Connect.

There are also other possible solutions available [including the one above] from here: Bluetooth - [Superuser]

I hope this helps!

Yes, I've tried rebooting.

The solution you've highlighted is exactly my problem - the "Connect" option doesn't show up.
