Is a default network connected to the internet safe?

    Hi,

I just got a fairly new hard drive from my sister, and when I started the computer, it already had a default network connected to the internet. I had a previous hard drive and internet connection setup, and I believe it was wireless unlike this new default connection. My question is, is it safe to use even when I turn off network sharing and use it as a home network or do I need to remove the default network and establish a wireless one? In other words, I don't want people connecting to this default network without a password.

If needed Windows 7, Dell, 32 bit. Using a router and modem as well.

    Thanks for your time.

Hi Greydle189, welcome to Seven Forums,

Please update your system specifications in your UserCP > Edit System Spec setup. It will help us to help you!
The tutorial below [Published by Brink and written by CyberZeus] makes doing this very easy.

How to See Your System Specs with "System Info"

    I hope this helps!

    Unfortunately, there is nothing there!

    EDIT: It has appeared now!

It is still easier to use: How to See Your System Specs with "System Info".

That way, when you post in the future we can just look at your My System Specs at the bottom and to the left of your post!

    Specs (Manually)

I just posted them manually but I cannot find it, however it did say approval pending. Just confused atm since it did not do so with the previous post. Nevertheless, do you have any suggestions for my "problem" or was the post more of a formal introduction/wait for future responses?
