Formerly working bridged connection is now slowing my entire wifi to n

Hello I'm having a bit of an odd issue. I use a bridged connection from my laptop to my desktop to access my wifi, I've been using this method for 3 years now without any issue.
Recently within the past week I've noticed something extremely odd, when the connection is unabridged I get 15mbps on average across all devices that connect to wifi. When I bridge the connection it drops my speed to 100kbps or lower across the entire network, this includes even my cell phones wifi connection speed. I find this very odd.
The only changes I've made recently were some windows updates and a new version of antivirus being installed.
I don't know what to make of this situation I hope someone can please help me with my issue, thanks for your time!

Welcome to the forum. You don't give us much to go on. You don't say what other PC version is could it be simply it's on win10 and it's downloaded the latest gigabytes of updates? It's finding what's taking the bandwidth does it only happen when the bridge PC is on?

Sorry, I was at work when I typed that in a rush. Both computers are win 7 x64 ultimate. When the connection is bridged via cable from desktop to laptop the download speed of every wifi connected device drops to 100kbps or less. The desktop pc has no active downloads, no background updates running etc. When the desktop pc is off or the bridge is removed the connection speed immediately jumps back up to the 15mbps for both my phone and my laptop. I tried resetting the router several times, tried creating new bridged connection, tried disabling the antivirus, I've updated the drivers on both pcs, and I still haven't been able to solve the issue. A few times when resetting the bridge I got an error saying there was an ip address conflict but that seemed to resolve itself, I don't know if it's a weird packet loss issue or something the whole situation has me very confused. Please let me know if there's any info I should post like my ipconfig etc.
