    Google Chrome problem

hello Everybody, long time not been here. Hope you are all well.

Problem with Google Chrome, which I use all the tie.

Luckily I put Firefox on the laptop otherwise I would not be able to write this.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

    Problem.

Askes me to go to application eventlog

    or

command line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

I ask myself, (as I can go online with Firefox) is it easier to just do a new installation of Google Chrome.

    Any answere appriciated,

    Thanks,
    Thelma

    Hi thelma,

I did a quick Google search and found that it could be because of a conflict between the C++ run-time libraries with the application and the application is unable to load the required C++ files need for its execution.

I would run SFC [System File Checker] first.

This thread => Fix The application has failed to start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect, explains the possibly reasons and provides methods to correct this.

It might be that a re-install of Chrome is in order! Have you got the latest Chrome installed?

Another option is to completely uninstall Chrome using Revo Uninstaller [FREE] => Revo Uninstaller. This is very good because it has the facility of deleting all the leftovers if you check the advanced option when uninstalling. The only thing is, you will have to re-do your settings and your favourites, although you can backup your favourites prior to the uninstall.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks Paul,

Yes I have Revo Uninstaller. I think I go for that option as I can reinstal via firefox.

Will I lose all my bookmarks ?

I am not sure about that but probably. To be on the safe side though, what you can do of course is to export them first, then import them once you have re-installed.

    I hope this helps!

Yes I will delete it. That was because I am not used to Firefox, which was very slow and in french.

I solved my problem by doing a system restore. Thought I give it a try and it worked

    Thanks for your help Paul.
