    Work computer —> Home Computer

My company replaced their computers about a year ago, and my boss gave me one of the old towers to take home and use as my own home computer.
I pulled the plugs on my old dinosaur computer, and hooked this one up. I have no need to access the work network... but the “new” computer will not connect to the internet using my current wired router.
Ideas? I feel like somehow the work network is blocking the connection?
(I have another computer hard wired to the same router and it works fine!)

I think you will find that there are proxy settings for the company network which you don't need!

Click Start => Control Panel => Network and Internet => Internet Options => click on the Connections tab => click LAN settings => UNCHECK Use a proxy server for your LAN => click OK => click OK.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks for the quick reply!
I’m searching the proxy settings- but haven’t found anything ... the computer says I am connected to the internet- and I can see the other home computer... but nothing loads!

What are you trying to load?
Are all the permissions set correctly?
We will need more information in order to be able to help you!

DNS Address could not be found

    I’m so lost!

Samuria, Thank you so much for your help -I am using support through my phone – and apparently can’t send you a screenshot… I also cannot download mini toolbox – because I cannot open a webpage on my computer.
I do appreciate your patience with me though! I will continue to try
