USB Tethering/Wireless hotspot issue + No wireless connections shown

Hi, i'm having a few issues currently and have tried googling them but not found any fix. First issue is that my computer is not showing any wireless connections as you can see in the image below, it doesn't display any wireless connections available in my home or in my area. Secondly i'm unable to USB Tether with my phone data to my computer, i've tested with my Laptop and on the laptop, both usb tethering and wireless hotspot connection to the laptop works perfectly fine. However since i can't see any wireless connections on my computer, i can't try to connenct to the hotspot wirelessly so my only choice is to usb tether but that doesn't work either as the little red cross indicates no connection. There's nothing wrong with my phone or any settings since the same settings work fine on my laptop. Also there's a little error icon that shows the message below in the screenshot when i double click it. I need some help on how i can start seeing wireless connections again on my computer and also why usb tethering doesn't work.
Appreciate any help as i've been trying to fix this issue for quite some time now but i've simply gotten no where from google and visiting forums so my only hope is to post in tech help sections on this website, thanks! S8+ phone.

Ok so it seems my computer doesn't have a wireless adaptor, however i can't seem to understand why the usb tethering is not working. As you can see in the picture the red cross is there and it doesn't seem to be connected even though i've done everything correctly as it works on my laptop but not PC.

Does your phone service allow tethering to more than one device?

Hi Estarossa, welcome to the Forum.

Tethered USB phones or modems do require a software program to run on the computer. With modems this is often included in the modem & when connected to a computer it loads the software automatically. I don't know if phones have the same feature. You could try the phone makers website to see if there is a software program you can download.

I'm not trying to connect it to more than one device. Only to my computer.

    Thank you!
So i need to install software relating to my phone on my computer? I'm not sure where i can locate such software. I use a samsung s8+ phone so it's not outdated by any means if any phone has built in, it's this one. Anyhow we can assume it doesn't have it so i need to go ahead and find the software i need to install.
However, what's confusing is that my sisters laptop which is new did not require any software to be installed, and the usb tethering worked fine on that. Also when you USB tether, it doesn't require a password in comparison to when you connect via hotspot right? When i go to networking section in control panel and see all the connections, it's enabled/active but 'no network access' is what i see written.
    Thanks for the replies!

Try PDANet. Go to the Google Play store and get the App, then on your computer you will need to install the PDANet program. Download PdaNet+

If you have an ethernet cable and your modem for your Internet with your ISP, like Comcast, then use that to get the program on your computer. Or use another computer with Internet and download the program, place it on a USB stick and install it that way on your computer with the USB stick.

You could probably download the PDANet program on your phone, then plug in the phone to the computer and navigate your downloads folder that way. Your phone will show up under the MY Computer icon. You will need to allow permission on the phone once plugged into the computer.

"device" means computer. I should have been more clear. Some phone services require additional payment to tether to multiple computers.
