Folder Share - Can only see from one user acct on 2nd PC

Both Machines are on Win7 Ultimate,

On PC-2, 1st Profile, no problems, you go to "Network" in Explorer, Click the PC-1 and shows all shared drives.

change the user on PC-2, and do same thing, get a message:

    "Windows cannot access \\PC-1

You do not have permission to access \\PC-1. Contact your network administrator to request access.

    For more.... .... and Support

    and Close Button

On the PC-1, I have shared and opened the sharing said all.. but seems so many ways do this.. and so many permissions all makes no sense to me.. trying to find what the heck.. but can't find any other.. with problems on with 2nd users..

    Thanks

Welcome to the forum. By default windows passes the username and password your logged in with so if the first profile has the same name as an account on the other PC it will work ok. If the second doesn't have an account that's the problem you can create an account on the target PC with same name password or you can select connect as another user and enter username etc. If you have set share and NTFS permission to everyone you should be able to connect

I am sorry but what you have advised I can not follow.. None of the users are the same name and password as the user on the PC with shared folder.. just seems that only the user who first connected is allowed, I have three other users.. and also turns out that a third PC we tried also is not allowed.. all very strange..

now I'd really like to know why this is.. but currently we found a work around.. enabled the HomeGroup, with no libraries shared and the one folder is shared.. all this is for Sage50 accounting which requires its data be not on a NAS, so one main PC has the Working data files.. PIA, wish someone would just fix Sage.. lol

    Thanks..
