PC will not auto recognize internet access after service outage

This is a problem that started only recently after I did a reinstall of Window 7 64 bit on my home PC. Prior to the reinstall, the PC worked properly.

My PC is connected to my home wireless router using an external USB adapter from Netgear (model WNA3100). The internet connection is normally fine. Now, if the internet service goes out for any period of time (comcast internet seemingly goes down for a few minutes each night at around 1 am), then all of my windows computers (I have 3 laptops as well) on my home network properly recognize that outage, and show a yellow triangle over the wireless icon in the system tray. If I hover my mouse over the icon, it says "Xfinity27863 No internet access". This is working as I expect.

When the service is restored, all of my laptops recognize the return of internet access, remove the yellow sign from the wireless icon in the system tray, and when I hover the mouse over the icon, they say "Xfinity27863 Internet access". But not my PC. My PC continues to show the yellow sign and "No internet access", and does not allow me to use the internet. The PC acts like the outage is still happening. It doesn't automatically restore the connection like it should. I can duplicate this problem by simply unplugging the cable source from the router and reconnecting it. All the computers show the yellow icon, and then all but the PC clear the icon and allow internet use.

To solve the problem manually, I have (go upstairs and) click the system tray wireless icon, click disconnect, and then reconnect. Then the PC can access the internet again. I can also cycle the router. The PC has no problem restoring connection the the router after it is cycled. It just doesn't restore internet access after a system outage.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software for the wireless adapter, and I have made sure to have the most updated version.

This is a big problem for me because I access my home PC remotely, or at least I used to, and I can't come home to manually reset the internet connection to get it working again.

    Did this get resolved?

If not, did you try reinstalling the Netgear software?
