Win7 and XP startup order problem

I have a home network that consists of 2 Win7's and one XP pc.

All works perfectly when the Win7's see the XP; if the XP is turned on first all is good.
If I turn on the XP last, ie. using Wake-on-Lan, the Win7's won't see the XP. If I do a logout/login on the Win7's then the XP shows up.

    Network discovery ON
    File and printer Sharing ON
    Public folder sharing ON
    Media streaming ON
File sharing connections 128 bit (i've also tried 40/56 bit)
    Password protected sharing OFF
    HomeGroup connections ALLOW (recommended)

    I don't have HomeGroup configured.
If a Win7 computer is turned on it shows up without any issues on the other Win7 pc, I haven't checked this on the XP machine.

Any ideas besides doing a logoff/login?

    Thanks for any recommendations!

    Hi EmilG;

If you are not using HomeGroup, I would suggest you turn off the "HomeGroup connections ALLOW"

    Robert,

    Thanks for the reply!

In the course of messing with it I did eventually settle on turning it off.

I did a lot of searching and found some guys have luck using the drive if they do a direct link to it like in my case "\\DRONE\Drone D", this works for me too.
