    Correct setup for Arris DG2470 and Trendnet router

    Good evening, everyone. I've got service with Grande here in Austin, and am trying to figure out the proper setup choices with these devices. The modem has 4 ports, all available, and I'm using 3. I've got wired connections to the modem for the TV, HTPC, and the router. The router feeds 2 more computers and my printer, all wired. The only wireless connections are for our phones, and they work just fine as well. Everything else also works, except for communications with the printer from the HTPC. The modem is not set to bridged mode. Is this a NAT or DHCP issue? Both? Here are the particulars, thanks for any help!

    1. Wired issue
    2. ISP = Grande Communications
    3. Cable
    4. Modem = Arris DG2470
    Router= Trendnet TEW 827DRU
    5. Avast 17.9

    Not familiar with those products.

    Looking at your equipment, had you checked that the Printer is properly setup? i.e., Do you need to tell the Printer to use an Ethernet instead of an USB connection?

    The second router needs to be setup as a WAN device. See How to connect two routers on a Home Network | Lifewire.

    Well, that was a no-brainer. Setting the Trendnet to bridge mode took care of it.

    iko22, many thanks!
