    Quad9 Messes up my TV.

Yesterday before I went to bed I set up my modem/router to use Quad9. Today I wasn't able to get any apps to connect on my Roku tv. A network test failed so I rebooted my TV. Then the network passed but the apps still wouldn't connect. After that I ran another network test and the test said that I had degraded performance. So I checked the internet from my computer and was able to pull up google just fine. The I followed yesterday's steps and set my modem back to the default settings which is to pull DNS servers from my ISP. After that the apps on the TV worked just fine. Does anyone know if the Roku apps' ports or URLs are blocked from using Quad9? That was the only change I made and after reverting my changes everything is back to normal. Also it wasn't a particular app but 3 or them that I tried.

I found out that some apps were using Google DNS hardcoded into the app. If this is true, then it is a restriction of the Roku hardware. It effectively means Roku apps are blocked from using Quad9.
(See: How to bypass Forced DNS on Roku ).

So does Quad9 block those apps?

I think not. It's Roku apps that are forcing the DNS.
If you still believe Quad9 is is blocking the apps domain, then contact their support. (See :Quad9 FAQ - How will Quad9 prevent the accidental blocking of legitimate domains?)
